Yoga 4 Cancer and Oncology Yoga

Yoga 4 Cancer/Oncology Yoga (y4c) method is gentle and restorative. Additionally, it is an evidence-informed style yoga focusing on the scientific foundation of movement and breath, with attention on the special needs of cancer patients or survivors.

The global y4c network includes trained teachers, resources, research initiatives, and strong partnerships that are focused on providing the quality of support cancer survivors’ need and want.

As both a y4c/Oncology Yoga trained teacher and cancer survivor, I am aware of, and understand the cautions and risks in generic yoga styles for cancer survivors. This provides a unique perspective on which postures (asanas) work best, which DO NOT WORK, and which could be harmful.

Each area within the human immune system (lymphatic system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, skeletal/muscular system, respiration system, and nervous system) is relative to the movements with y4c

Throughout a gradual process and use of the y4c/Oncology Yoga method, including specific focus on recovery and healing of your body, mind, and spirit, aids in applying self compassion. A weekly y4c practice provides a safe, fulfilling yoga experience.

Yoga 4 Cancer/Oncology Yoga Classes

Current class available (in-person and/or online) on Tuesday evenings, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Yoga practice is from 5:30 to 6:30, with group discussions (optional to join, not required), from 6:30 to 7:00 pm.

Group Classes:

Must pre-register to reserve your space (in-person limited to 4 people/class) and online for Tuesday evenings (5:30-6:30 pm). This class is a hybrid class with both in-person and online students.

Each person (in-person only) will be assigned their own yoga kit, used only by them. (sanitized and released after 2 consecutive missed classes)

Additional weekly class may be added as needed.
